McMurtry Racing

The past few weeks Mike Plummer in the #35 car has been turning in Top 3 runs in the feature. Tim McMurtry in the #59 car has been speradic in trying to figure his car out. He has been high as 4th and low as 8th. His new car has been a real challenge for him to get a handle on.Hopefully this weekend will be good runs for both.They will be running at Dallas County Speedway this Saturday night.

Dallas County Speedway's quarter mile track proved to be a real challenge this week for McMurtry racing. Mike Plummer in the #35 Factory Stock won his Heat again! Tim McMurtry in#59 car finished his heat in 6th putting him deep in the field for the feature.#59 car could not get any bite. Mike in the #35 car started A Feature on the Pole and Tim#59 started in 12th.Mike plummer battled the feature in second place going for 1st ,when he was spun out by another car,with only two laps to go.Mean while Tim McMurtry battled a tight car with no rear bite. Mike got by Tim and was gaining ground fast.On the final lap Mike's car (struggling to find bite) spun again. Tim McMurtry finished 10th and Mike Plummer finished 12th.Both driver's where fighting tight conditions and no bite in the cars.The track was Super Dry Slick and made for a tough night. Gary Plummer #57 Bommer finiished 9th in his class.

McMurtry Racing Started out the 2011 Season whith a New  diver Mike Plummer,driving the #35 car.Mike has finished 4th,9th,13th,and 4thin the Features at Lucas Oil Speedway.He is 4th in the points there.Futher Mike has scored 2nd at the Opening at Dallas County Speedway in thee feature. Tim McMurtry in the #59 missed the first two Races due to health. Since he has scored 13th and 7th at Lucas Oil Speedway Feature moving to 16th in the points.Tim was running in 4th in the Feature at Dallas County when he got spun out with two laps to go.He finished the Race in 7th place.

McMurtry Eacing finished the 2010 Season once again in the Top Ten at Lucas Oil Speedway in 8th Place.This is the seacond Year in a Row since starting in 2009 ! Thank you to every one who helped.

Racing at Lucas Oil Speedway was very intresting,The Track was so Dry Slick that it was a Caution  feast,and hard to get a Lap in without one.Tom Mapels of Mapels Ford #73, Mike Plummer # 35,and Tim McMurtry #59 ran respectable in the Factory Stock Feature. Tom Finished 12th,Mike 11th,and Tim in 10th.It took a lot  of skill and work to drive a Track that slick.David Gemes in our # 16 ULMA Late Model came from the back to finish a very respectable 11th.David avoided some good wrecks with over aggessive drivers hitting him in the rear and then spinning out behind him.David drove a very smart race passing 3 cars on the last lap.He had been bolxed in most of the race,by slower cars.

   David Gemes in our #16 ULMA Late Model, ran the high speed Track at the Missouri State Fair Speedway.The whole Team was present Pam Gemes,Mike Plummer and his wife Tiffany,Tim McMurtry,and Tom Maples of Maples Ford (One of our Sponsors), We met a lot of great people,Kenny Wallace from NASCAR,driving his Modified. David was looking good,eexcept a lot of drivers hiting our car. David drove a very smart race,with a lot of cautions and even red flags.David had moved up when a car spun in front of him,he stop barely touching the car,when another car came in a nailed David right in front part of the drivers door. It did major damage to the front end. David still had moved up to finish the race in a respectable 11th place.Thanks to Our sponsors,Maples Ford,Cliff's Towing and Recovery,and C-En Spots Farms.They make our racing possible.

Tom Maples of Maples Ford #73, Mike Plummer #35,Tim McMurtry #59 all had respectable runs in the A feature in Factory Stock finishing on a heavy Horse Power Track. David Gemes # 16 ULMA Late Model had an excellent run.looking good, finished the A Feature in 6th place.Still having trouble with video and will post when I get problem fixed. I appologize!

Another good night with Tom Maples of Maples Ford,Mike Plummer,David Gemes running our ULMA Late Model, Tim McMurtry. Tom #73,Mike #35, Tim #59 running Factory Stocks Finished the A Feature with respectable runs. David #16 Late Model looking good  in the A Feature.Been having problems with videos,so keep checking back.

Another fun night at Lucas Oil Speedway.Tom Maples of Maples Ford our sponsor brought his #73 Mustang Factory Stock.McMurtry Racing was proud to sponsor Mike Plummer's Bommer, which ran in Factory Stock division.David Gemes looking good in our # 16 Late Model. Tim McMurtry driving #59 in Factory Stock. David Gemes was on the move, got up to 8th place, was moving forward, and a car spun right in front of him. He basically had avoided a major crash only to have a car plow into him and tear up the car.David look so good too for only his second time in a Late Modle in 5 years. Tim McMurtry in the #59  Factory Stock finished in the Top Ten in 9th Place in the A Feature. Mike Plummer finished a very respectable 10th in the A Feature. Tom Maples of Maples Ford in our group, finished a very respectable 11th in the A Feature.I will be posting videos soon.

McMurtry Racing pick up new sponsor ship Cliff's Towing and Recovery and more sponsorship from Maples Ford. We also made a driver change in the Late Model. We had to let Kurt Sledd go after retaliating on another driver under the caution and, not living up to his agreement..We have a new driver David Gemes for the Late Model and it is now # 16. We had a great weekend of racing even though rain came in and cancelled out  A Mods and Late Model Features. They will made up next week. We finished the  which made iFactory Stock Feature as the rain began, It was a new experence. Tim McMuirtry and Tom Maples finished 7th and 10th respectably. We now have a big pit crew which made it a lot of fun.
